AutoIt Script – Toggle your HTPC sound output (Win7)
Wrote a little script to toggle the sound output for my HTPC and announce the current output. Once the script is compiled (or not), you can assign it to a Windows hot-key and map to your media remote or call it by some other means (use your imagination). Requires AutoIT unless compiled to an exe using the AutoIT compiler.

If ControlCommand("Sound","","&Set Default", "IsEnabled") Then

ControlClick("Sound","","&Set Default")
ControlClick("Sound","","OK")
$o_speech.Speak("Sound switched to TV")
Else
TrayTip("Sound Output: AMP"," ",10,1)
ControlSend("Sound","","","{DOWN}")
ControlClick("Sound","","&Set Default")
ControlClick("Sound","","OK")
$o_speech.Speak("Sound switched to AMP")
EndIf
EndFunc

New iPhone Leaked
Wow... So a prototype of the Next iPhone was lost/stolen?? and sold to Gizmodo for $5000.00. I really feel bad for the poor guy who lost this thing. Is this the final prototype? Who knows.. Apple confirmed the authenticity of this prototype when they called and then sent a formal request letter to Gizmodo's Editorial Director Brian Lam for the return. I'm eager to see if/what legal actions Apple pursues against the finder/thief?? and the buyer, Gizmodo.

Does 1080p Really matter?
When your selecting a new TV, many wonder "Is there really a difference between 720p and 1080p?".
What does 720p and 1080p really even mean?
720p:
The 720 represents 720 lines of vertical resolution (720 horizontal scan lines), and the letter p stands for progressive scan (not "720i" or interlaced)
1080p: (aka. full HD or full High Definition)
The 1080 represents 1080 lines of vertical resolution (720 horizontal scan lines), and the letter p stands for progressive scan (not "1080i" or interlaced)
So what makes a 1080p better than a 1080i?
Progressive (1080p) vs Interlaced (1080i): Progressive scan processes the images twice as fast as Interlaced. This faster scan rate makes for a picture that is more crisp, clear, and vivid.

Despite its lack of major end-user features, Snow Leopard could be the biggest OS X update ever thanks to one killer feature - speed and performance that will take everyday computing to the next level.
